I am experimenting with a new ‘Pin It’ button. I added it to the detailed blog post pages today, and so far it seems to be working so it looks like it will probably be a keeper!

Without the ‘Pin It’ button, I thought pinners might inadvertently pin blog posts that linked back to ILoveTeachingBlogs.com. I was able to figure out the code that would allow pinners to pin the original source from ILTB!

A cool side feature is that the ‘Pin It’ button keeps track of how many times the blog post was pinned in all. Many of us can’t even access that feature with the dynamic ‘Pin It’ buttons on our own blogs. This handy little number helps you see how popular a post is overall. For instance, this blog post about DIY magnetic retelling sets from Pre-K Pages was an instant hit. The post was just published this morning, and the ‘Pin It’ count quickly rose throughout the day. Here’s where it was at when I grabbed a screen shot of the post at ILTB:

(Edit on 4/3/12: It’s now up to 277! Am I the only one excited by statistics?)

Speaking of Pinterest, you can find my boards {here}. Feel free to share where we can find you…

Right now, the site is under beta testing. If it is working smoothly, I’ll be opening it up to allow you to submit your own teaching blog for inclusion in the index.

I have some other exciting plans as well, but you’ll just have to wait. :)
